Breckenridge Restaurants

Which Breckenridge restaurants will satisfy your hunger today? There are some interesting scientific discussions about how calories are burned more efficiently at 9,600 feet above sea level, but that advantage only seems to come if you live here. While visiting, your incredible adventure schedule will surely result in a huge appetite. So whether you’re ready for a multi-plate feast or something lighter, you can always find delicious options to match your appetite. With its mix of small-town sensibility and worldly flare, Breckenridge restaurants offer a variety of cuisine through an assortment of ethnic spots such as French, Italian, Asian, Cajun and Mexican eateries among others. Many local chefs are inspired by and draw from fresh, locally sourced ingredients and serve seasonal menus that reflect their desire to show off the best of what’s available in the region like Colorado lamb and bison.

And even though Colorado is a land-locked state, fresh fish is abundant in Sushi spots (flown in daily) or from nearby rivers and lakes (think trout galore). Simply put, Breckenridge restaurants will not disappoint even the most finicky palates. During ski season and at the height of summer (mid-June through mid-August), you’ll want to be sure to call ahead for reservations.

Breckenridge Restaurants and Local Specialties

Breckenridge is home to old western saloons (one that’s been in operation since 1879) along with other eateries housed in historic buildings from the mid-1880s period. Still, the cuisine available in Breckenridge restaurants is quite contemporary. Some of the special dishes you’ll want to taste around town include garbage pizzas (delicious, thick-crusted, mountain-style pies loaded with everything), crepes (the outdoor stand always has a line, and there’s a reason), savory steaks and novelty desserts like fried Twinkies. Also, most places offer a kid’s menu for your wee ones.
