Burro Days

5th Street, Fairplay
(719) 836-2622

Burro Days is an annual event held in Fairplay to celebrate the role of burros during Colorado's mining days. Since 1949 the full weekend in July has drawn crowds (sometimes more than 10,000 people) to participate in an array of activities. Festivities include burro races, gold panning, a parade, outhouse races, a barn dance, a pancake breakfast, the Cowboy Church service and more than 100 arts, crafts, and food vendors.
