Continental Divide Winery takes wine to new heights. At an elevation of 10,361 feet, it is not only the world's highest altitude winery, but also a highly enjoyable place to taste and purchase award-winning wines. The winery itself is in South Park (Fairplay), where two families of expert winemakers have come together to establish a state-of-the-art, custom-built winemaking facility that capitalizes on this unique alpine location. At the tasting rooms in Breckenridge and Fairplay, wine lovers can sample the variety of red and white wines made with grapes from Colorado and California and taste for themselves how climate, elevation and terroir affect the fruit. Both tasting rooms are open daily starting at noon, and of course their wine is for sale at both locations. A unique offering at the Breckenridge location is the Wine Blending Experience, in which participants play winemaker using four red wine varietals to craft their own custom blend. The blend is then bottled, corked and labeled to take home. The Wine Blending Experience is offered daily and takes about two hours; reservations are required. Call to inquire about wine clubs, special events and holding your own private events at either of the tasting rooms.
